Update your diabetes skills and share best practice with this CPD accredited course
This CPD-accredited learning package is for people with experience of working with patients who have diabetes; it is designed to update and refresh their knowledge and know how.
This diabetes refresher package is designed for health and care professionals who manage people with diabetes, wish to refresh their skills and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Please Note: All scheduled courses (unless clearly indicated) are delivered online using an Interactive Blended Online Learning Model. This includes a blend of live webinars, workshops and Q&A sessions with clinical tutors combined with eLearning and videos; all designed to enable participants to build the knowledge and skills needed to successfully complete their course.
The course is led by an experienced clinical specialist and facilitator, these highly interactive sessions will enable you to update your clinical practice by:
Discussing and reviewing best practice models
Identifying and researching interdependencies specific to your own practice population e.g. supported self-care and behavior change; metabolic syndrome; prevention strategies; reducing cardiovascular risk; foot pathology
Creating a new quality improvement initiative for your practice
Undertaking peer assessment to help support new initiatives and embed knowledge
Understanding and developing your leadership skills
An understanding of best practice models and how to implement these
How to apply national and local guidelines
How to understand the needs of your practice population and take positive
actionThe completion of a service improvement initiative for your practice
Attending both sessions of this refresher equates to four hours of CPD activity. Certificates will be issued for courses starting on or after 1 September 2021.

The Training Hub will review and respond to your funding request. If funding is approved, it will be your responsibility to book your place on the course you wish to attend, we will provide the instructions to do this. Applications will be reviewed in order of the course date (soonest courses first) and date received. If you have any questions, please contact us at hwetraininghub@nhs.net.
Please note, you will need to send us your booking confirmation within 1 week of your funding being approved as places are limited. Failure to do this will result in your funding being withdrawn and you will need to reapply.

If your funding request is approved the Training Hub will cover the full cost of this course.
