This is a 2-day course, taking part on 2 days which are 6 weeks apart. The dates are as follows:

This CPD-accredited learning package is for people with experience of working with patients who have asthma; it is designed to update and refresh their knowledge and know how. 

Update your asthma skills and share best practice with this CPD accredited course

This Asthma refresher package is designed for health and care professionals who manage people with asthma, wish to refresh their skills and implement quality improvement initiatives.

Led by an experienced clinical specialist and facilitator, these highly interactive sessions will enable you to update your clinical practice by:

  • Discussing and reviewing best practice models

  • Identifying and researching interdependencies specific to your own practice population e.g. difficult asthma, occupational asthma, mental health, dysfunctional breathing, smoking cessation, joint working protocols

  • Creating a new quality improvement initiative for your practice

  • Undertaking peer assessment to help support new initiatives and embed knowledge

  • Understanding and developing your leadership skills

This is a series of two 2 hour facilitated online workshops with research and quality initiatives to be undertaken between sessions. It combines group discussions, peer review and best practice development. These sessions are highly interactive, based on the specific needs of the individuals and group; led by an experienced facilitator and clinical specialist.

Familiarisation of national guidance along with any local formularies and guidelines will be an asset.

How to apply for funding and apply for this course

Please complete the MS Form available at the following link: HWE Training Hub Funding Request Form (office.com)

The Training Hub will review and approve the course funding - however, it is your responsibility to book your place on the course you wish to attend. We will review and respond to applications in order of the course date (soonest courses first) and date received. If you have any questions, please contact us at: hwetraininghub@nhs.net

Once the Training Hub has approved your funding request, we will contact you with instructions on how to book your place on the course. When you have booked, please send us your booking confirmation to complete the process. Your booking confirmation must be received by the Training Hub within 1 week of your funding approval. If your booking confirmation is not received within a week of your request for funding being approved, your approval will no longer be valid and you will need to complete a new funding request form, via the MS Forms link. We will notify you if we have withdrawn your funding request.
